Mental Health Treatment for Teens
Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it. — Helen Keller
ALL ABOUT THERAPY
Collaborative and Person-centered
Therapy can help you when you feel down, anxious, or stuck. I work with you to notice patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are working against you. Through support, coping skills, challenging unhelpful patterns, and exploring who you want to be, we can work together to move beyond suffering and experience growth.

My expertise is in adolescent mental health, with a focus on eating disorders, body image, and emotions (like depression and anxiety). I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own experience. I bring expertise from the scientific literature as well as what I learned from years working with teens.

I use behavioral and cognitive-behavioral techniques in sessions. We also do regular check-ins to reflect on the progress you see in areas of life you want to change. My approach is primarily adolescent-focused, with parents involved as-needed to facilitate healthy support for the teen and positive communication in the whole family.
GETTING STARTED
Therapy is remote (over video).
Patients must live in Connecticut.
-
Fill out the "Contact Me" form or text (203) 392-1002

-
We will set up an initial call (15 minutes) for you to tell me why your teen wants to do therapy. I will tell you about my approach and answer your questions.

-
The next step is for me to meet with the teen one-on-one to get a sense of their challenges and goals. This will help us come up with a treatment plan.

-
The next step is to follow the treatment plan for one month. At that point, we will look at progress and see if therapy is working for you or if we need to change the plan.

-
Although the length of therapy (number of sessions and frequency of sessions) vary from teen to teen, most will last 2 to 4 months.
